We cannot be everything to everyone, but we do aim to become the student accommodation provider of choice to as many students as possible, by providing high quality, modern, vibrant and secure student accommodation. All coupled with a high level of service and professional management, at a fair and all inclusive price. We will always endeavour to respond to and deal with everyone courteously and efficiently. If we make a mistake we will declare it, and we will aim to put it right as quickly as possible – In return we expect residents to treat each other, our staff, visitors and our property with respect at all times. u-student.com was founded in 2004 by Managing Director, Martyn Boak. After 25 successful years in business working in the construction & property sectors throughout the UK, Martyn decided there was an opportunity for a smaller, though very professional student accommodation provider to bring clean, new, modern, secure yet vibrant accommodation to the market, coupled with a very focused and professional approach to managing that accommodation.

Our first development was in Carlisle and restricted at that time to 39 bedrooms by the local student population numbers, a new build scheme on the site of a former Public House, The Malsters Arms.

u-student.com provided the only private halls in Carlisle and that remains the case today.  With over 50% retention of student residents each year (many staying with u-student.com for their entire student experience in Carlisle) u-student.com very quickly established itself as the leading accommodation provider in Carlisle with exceptionally high standards, and equally high feedback and praise from residents.

u-student.com aims to grow to around 3000 bedrooms and has a very focused target city list, with our second development,  The Forge – U Student Village having opened in September 2010 in Sunderland our room numbers have increased to 587 and we  continue to look for suitable development opportunities..
