What happens if I cannot get to the UK in time to move in to u-student.com?
If you realise you aren’t going to be able to move into the accommodation you have booked at u-student.com on the moving in date specified in your tenancy agreement, please notify us immediately and let us know when you will be arriving.

Do I need to bring my own bed linen, etc with me?
Yes. All residents must provide their own bedding, however, this can be purchased once you arrive in the UK or through u-student.com.  All our beds are single and we recommend that you require a single duvet, pillow, duvet cover, pillow case, sheets and towels

Can I stay in my accommodation during holiday time?
Yes. We have holidays at Christmas (December/January) and Easter (March/April) each year. All students retain their rooms during these holidays. Many of the UK students may return home to their families, but many others, including most international students, stay in their accommodation and/or use the time to travel the UK.

You are also able to retain your room during the longer summer vacation by prior arrangement with u-student.com.  The summer vacation is a quieter time at our accommodation as most residents return home for the summer.  If you decide to stay during the summer holiday there is a possibility that you may have to move rooms.  If this is going to happen u-student.com will give you plenty of notice.

Am I eligible for treatment under the National Health Service (NHS)?
All full-time students studying in the UK for more than six months are covered by the NHS (National Health Service), available to them free of charge. Alternatively, there are also several private healthcare schemes that require you to buy insurance.

If your course lasts less than six months and your country of origin has no reciprocal health care agreement with the UK, you will need to take out private health insurance to cover the cost of any treatment, as you will not be covered under the NHS.

You can get more information from the Department of Health: (click image below)

Can I drive in the UK?
If you have an licence issued in a European Economic Area country you can drive on your EEA licence until it expires.

For nationals of other countries, if you are coming to study in the UK for more than 12 months, you can drive on your valid foreign licence or international driving permit for a period of 12 months from the date you first arrive in the UK.
