Very soon it’ll be time for the Easter holidays. Take some time away from studying to indulge in some Easter fun and frolics.
Go back to your childhood with the Lego brick animal trail on at Washington wetland centre (24/03/16 – 17/04/16). They have giant Lego sculptures of all sorts of different animals on display for you to spot on the trail. You can book tickets online for an extra 10% off – concessions with gift aid donation tickets cost £6.93.
Make a glass Easter egg at the national glass centre (24/03/16 – 09/04/16). Using sand you can come up with your own designs before adding the coloured glass to create the finished product. Costs £15.00 and you get to take your egg home.
Get hunting with the dinosaur egg hunt at the Sunderland museum and winter gardens (24/03/16 – 10/04/16). Can you find them all? There are secret codes to crack in the eggs and you can win a dinosaur themed prize. £2.00 per entry.
Take part in the Penshaw Bowl on Good Friday. Race your egg’s down the hill to see who’s the fastest! Starting from the amphitheatre in Herrington County Park 2-3 pm there are also Easter theme activities for big kids and small. You do need to pre book to take part.
Make your own Easter eggs. Use food dye on boiled eggs to create bright colours and moulds are easy to buy for making your own chocolate eggs. And the best thing about making chocolate eggs is that you can choose the surprise inside.
