Cleaning your room can seem like a huge task and no one wants to spend hours and hours cleaning ugghhh, no thanks. But keeping where you live clean is super important for your health and wellbeing. It doesn’t have to take forever though, why not follow a few simple steps to cleaning like a pro?

We would recommend doing your cleaning on a weekend and setting aside time to get it all done, you’ll feel such accomplishment once you’ve finished. Get up early and make sure you’re wearing comfy clothes that you can move about in. Also, make sure you’ve got everything you need out and ready to go. Remember you need to work in order, there is no point cleaning only to make it dirty again.

  1. Take out any rubbish
  2. Put things back into their usual place (this means in drawers and wardrobes)
  3. Do any ironing and put away your clean clothes
  4. Strip your bed and pop all linen into the washer
  5. Clean all fabrics (pillows, blankets, rugs)
  6. Dust and wipe all surfaces down
  7. Clean lights and curtains or blinds
  8. Clean all glass and windows (including mirrors)
  9. Disinfect surfaces and worktops
  10. Clean and disinfect bathrooms and toilets
  11. Sweep up and then mop
  12. Vacuum throughout
  13. Spray your favourite room spray

It may take a while to clean a whole house, but that’s the beauty of being a student, you don’t have that much space. Each step shouldn’t take any more than 10- minutes and some will take even less! Good luck cleaning!
