Christmas is a great time of year and maybe more than in other years, it’s more important to spend quality time with family. So we’ve got some great tips and advice on how to do Christmas as a student.

  • Set a spending limit for presents

Christmas isn’t about what you give or what you receive, it’s about the time you spend with the people you love. Plus everyone knows you’re a student, they won’t be expecting you to go crazy. Set a limit for what you want to spend on each person, and make a list before you go shopping.

  • Get your shopping done early

There is nothing worse than running around the shops at the very last minute. Try and order things in good time, and get them wrapped soon enough, that way you can really enjoy Christmas. Stuck for ideas, check out our Ultimate Gift Guide for Students here.

  • Get involved

Even though you might not be the most talented in the kitchen, an extra pair of hands is always welcome. Although you may not realise, if you’re living away from home, your parents will be missing you and will thoroughly enjoy having you home, and enjoy spending quality time with you.

  • Plan when you’re going to do Uni work

Yes, you do need to do some work over the holidays. But balance is the most important thing, identify when you’ll have free time and set out what you do in this time. Remember to plan it, do it, and then put it away and enjoy yourself. Wondering how you’ll get your Uni work done? Check out our ‘How to Study over Christmas blog’.

Whether you’re heading home for Christmas or just spending a few days with family and friends, it’s all about balance, enjoying Christmas and spending quality time with people important to you. If you’re looking for further information on How to do Christmas as a Student, click here.
